The 2024 amendment adds climate change considerations, requiring organizations to determine whether climate change is relevant to their quality management system. ISO 9001 is applicable to any organization regardless of size, industry, or location, making it the universal foundation for quality management.
ISO 9001:2008 - ISO 9001 Standard (2008 Revision)
The 2008 revision of ISO 9001 that enhanced process approach requirements and clarified quality management system implementation. This revision emphasized better process management, enhanced customer satisfaction measurement, and improved supplier relationship management. WITHDRAWN - Transition period ended September 15, 2018. No longer valid. Organizations must certify to ISO 9001:2015 for current compliance.

ISO 9002 - Quality Assurance in Production, Installation and Servicing
A quality assurance standard focused specifically on production, installation, and servicing processes for organizations that do not engage in design and development activities. ISO 9002 provided quality system requirements for companies that manufacture products to established designs or provide installation and servicing of existing products. WITHDRAWN - Integrated into ISO 9001 in 2000. No longer available as a separate standard.

ISO 9002:1994 - ISO 9002 Standard (1994 Version)
The 1994 version of ISO 9002 that established comprehensive quality assurance requirements for production and installation processes. No longer available as a separate standard. Organizations should pursue ISO 9001:2015 certification.

ISO 9003 - Quality Assurance in Final Inspection and Test
A quality assurance standard focused specifically on final inspection and testing processes for organizations with limited quality system scope. No longer available as a separate standard. Current organizations should implement ISO 9001:2015.
