The current global automotive quality management standard that replaced ISO/TS 16949. IATF 16949:2016 combines ISO 9001:2015 requirements with automotive-specific additions including statistical process control, measurement system analysis, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and production part approval processes (PPAP). Essential for automotive suppliers worldwide and required by major automotive OEMs.

The automotive-specific technical specification that combined ISO 9001 with additional requirements from major automotive manufacturers worldwide. ISO/TS 16949:2002 was developed by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) to harmonize automotive quality system requirements across global markets. WITHDRAWN - Transition to IATF 16949:2016 ended October 2017. No longer valid. Automotive suppliers must certify to IATF 16949:2016.

QS 9000 - Quality System Requirements
The pioneering automotive quality standard developed by General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler to establish consistent supplier quality requirements across the US automotive industry. QS 9000 combined ISO 9001 requirements with automotive-specific additions including statistical process control and continuous improvement mandates. WITHDRAWN - All certifications terminated December 14, 2006. No longer valid. Superseded by ISO/TS 16949, then IATF 16949:2016.

QS 9000:1998 - QS-9000 Standard (1998 Version)
The enhanced 1998 revision of QS 9000 that strengthened supplier development and continuous improvement requirements for automotive manufacturers. This version enhanced requirements for management responsibility, resource allocation, and customer satisfaction measurement. WITHDRAWN - All certifications terminated December 14, 2006. No longer valid. Replaced by modern IATF 16949:2016 standard.
