IndustrialWebSearch.com Privacy Policy
Effective Date: January 1, 2025
1. Introduction
Welcome to industrialwebsearch.com (“IWS,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). We are committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of our Users (“you” or “your”), including both Buyers who may register for free and Suppliers who pay for membership to manage company profiles and keyword assignments. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains how we collect, use, share, store, and protect your Personal Information when you access or use our website, products, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
By using our Services, you agree to the terms of this Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our Services. We encourage you to read this Policy carefully and contact us with any questions.
2. Scope & Compliance
2.1 U.S. and North American Compliance: We are a U.S.-based startup primarily targeting Members in North America. We strive to comply with all applicable U.S. federal and state privacy laws, such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), where relevant, and anticipate future compliance with expanding privacy regulations.
2.2 Future Global Compliance: While we currently focus on North America, our long-term goal is to meet or exceed evolving global privacy standards (e.g., GDPR, PIPEDA, etc.) if and when our user base expands internationally.
2.3 ADA Compliance & Accessibility: We are committed to ensuring our Services are accessible to all Users and will incorporate ADA-compliant tools and best practices to facilitate accessibility.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Personal Information: We may collect the following categories of Personal Information:
- Identification Data: Name, job title, company name, industry, mailing address, phone number, and email address.
- Account Credentials: Login details (e.g., username, password) for registered Buyers or Supplier members.
- Transaction & Payment Information (for Suppliers): Billing addresses, payment method details, and transaction history.
- Professional Profile Data: Company descriptions, product/service listings, keyword selections, and other content Suppliers choose to share.
- Contact and Marketing Preferences: Your communication preferences and interests.
3.2 Usage Data: We may collect information about your use of the Services, including IP addresses, browser type, device identifiers, pages visited, search queries, referral URLs, and timestamps, to improve our Services and enhance user experience.
3.3 Cookies & Tracking Technologies: We use cookies, web beacons, pixel tags, and similar technologies to enhance navigation, personalize your experience, analyze site usage, and assist in our marketing efforts. For more information, see Section 7 below.
3.4 Third-Party Integrations (e.g., HubSpot): We leverage third-party platforms, such as HubSpot, to manage customer relationships, analytics, marketing automation, and user interactions. These platforms may collect and process Personal Information on our behalf, subject to their own privacy policies and compliance measures.
3.5 Call Tracking and Communications
Call Tracking Numbers: To facilitate and monitor communications between buyers and suppliers on our platform, we assign a unique call tracking telephone number to each supplier member's profile. When a buyer calls a supplier using the phone number provided on the IWS website, the call is routed through our system (via a communications service) to the supplier's actual phone line. This tracking number allows us to log and analyze the call activity related to that supplier. By providing supplier members with dedicated tracking numbers, IWS can accurately attribute and record inquiries made through the platform for the supplier's benefit and our internal analytics.
Call Recording and Analytics: Calls made to suppliers via these tracking numbers may be monitored and recorded for quality assurance, customer service, and analytics purposes When you dial a supplier through an IWS-provided number, we collect data about the call, including the caller's number, the time and date of the call, call duration, and audio recordings of the call. We may use this information to verify inquiries, improve our services, and provide analytics to our supplier members (for example, to show that a lead was generated through our platform). Please note that these call recordings may be reviewed by IWS and the supplier, and treated as personal information under this Privacy Policy.
Third-Party Call Tracking Service: We partner with a trusted third-party service, CallRail, to provide the call routing, tracking, and recording functionality on our behalf. This means that when a call is placed through an IWS tracking number, it is processed by our third-party telephony analytics provider. The provider will have access to the call data - including the phone numbers and audio recordings - solely for the purpose of delivering us these call tracking and analytics services. All call information handled by this third-party is protected under appropriate data protection agreements, and the third-party is not permitted to use the data for any purpose other than providing services to IWS. We ensure that any third-party assisting us (such as CallRail) is bound by strict confidentiality and security obligations to safeguard your information.
Consent to Call Monitoring: By using the phone contact feature on IWS (i.e., by calling a supplier via a number listed on our site), you acknowledge and agree that the call may be tracked and recorded. Supplier members similarly agree that inbound inquiries via IWS can be recorded and monitored by IWS. At the start of each call, the caller will hear a brief notification if the call is being recorded.
By continuing with the call after this notice, both parties consent to the recording. If a caller does not wish to be recorded, they will have the opportunity to end the call after hearing the notification. Using the IWS platform's communication features signifies acceptance of these practices by both the buyer and the supplier, and any user of the aforementioned numbers.
Legal Compliance: IWS is committed to handling call recordings in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Telephone recording laws vary by jurisdiction - some areas require the consent of one party, while others require all parties to consent to the recording. In line with these laws, we ensure that a proper disclosure is given at the start of the call and that recording only proceeds with the necessary consents.
Our call tracking system is designed to provide notice (such as "This call may be recorded for quality purposes") whenever required. By implementing these measures, IWS complies with federal and state call recording requirements and protects the privacy rights of users. We encourage you to end the call if you do not agree to these terms.
